Velvel interviews Boston Globe's Pulitzer winning reporter, Charlie Savage, about his new book, Takeover -- The return of the imperial presidency and the subversion of American democracy. Savage details the rise of a stronger and more unitary presidency from the time of Harry Truman to the present. He discusses the Signing Statements for which his work earned him a Pulitzer, and relates that to the ever increasing power of the executive branch of the federal government.
